Dean Omar Helps Families Get Justice for Corporate Wrong-Doing

A South Carolina woman was recently awarded over $5 million for the wrongful death of her husband.

The jury determined that Fisher Controls International was liable for Joyce Glenn’s husband’s death after discovering that they had been using asbestos gaskets in valves at her husband’s workplace.

Thomas Glenn had worked at several different power plants during his 27-year career. He had been in close proximity to other individuals as they installed asbestos gaskets in the facilities. A jury determined that this led to his diagnosis of mesothelioma and his eventual death. The jury ruled that Fisher’s decision to use asbestos products was wanton, willful, and reckless, eventually awarded Glenn with $2.1 million in punitive damages, $2 million in compensatory damages, and $1 million for the loss of consortium with her spouse.

Two other companies – Crosby Valves and Carboline Company – were cleared of fault during the case.

Joyce Glenn was represented by three attorneys from Dean Omar Branham Shirley – Jonathan M. Holder, Jessica M. Dean, and Charles W. Branham III. As members of Dean Omar, they made it their goal to make sure Joyce Glenn got justice for her husband’s death.

Dean Omar has one goal in mind – to right the wrongs created by big corporations in America. The firm often files lawsuits on behalf of individuals that have suffered due to corporate greed.
