Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was born in Lima, Ohio on March 2nd, 1982. The 6-foot 5-inch, 240-pound athlete was a winner in every sport he played. He was a star, team captain and all-league selection in baseball, basketball and football. But it was in football that he really made his mark. He threw for 54 touchdowns and 4,041 yards as a senior at Findlay High. They were both state records in Ohio. Roethlisberger played three years of college football at Miami(Ohio)where he set almost two dozen school records. He then entered the 2004 NFL draft.

The Pittsburg Steeler Years

The Pittsburg Steelers drafted Big Ben Roethlisberger in the first round of the 2004 NFL draft with the 11th pick overall. He rewarded their confidence in him by being named Offensive NFL Rookie of the Year and being named to the All-Rookie team.

Plus, Ben Roethlisberger went on to win three-quarters of the first 100 games he started at home. Roethlisberger spent his entire 18-year NFL career in Pittsburgh. When he retired, he held the team records for the most passing attempts, completions, completion percentage, passing yards, and touchdown passes in a single game. Roethlisberger also won two Super Bowls, led the NFL in passing twice and was selected for the Pro Bowl six times.
