Early in his life, he was spent between Lima and Findlay, Ohio. Benjamin Roethlisberger Sr. was shaped for leadership at an early age being the team captain in football, basketball, and baseball at his high school. Football is where young Ben Roethlisberger shined bright. Ben Roethlisberger set many state records in his senior year as a team captain of the Findlay Trojans team. He completed 4041 throwing yards with 54 touchdowns, he even ran for seven touchdowns in his old high school season. He earned the league, the district, and the Toledo Blade Player of the Year all in that same season.

 

He attended the Miami University of Ohio as he continued setting and breaking the school’s and his passing records in a mere 38 games. Ben Roethlisberger completed 10,829 passing yards with 854 passes completed; he broke the Miami Red Hawks’ career record with a total of 11,075 offensive yards and was only the third player in the Mid-American Conference history to have more than 3,000 yards in three seasons, was the 10th conference quarterback to throw over 10,000 career yards. The school retired his jersey in 2007, the first in 37 years.

 

Ben Roethlisberger became the first-round NFL pick drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he spent his entire professional career with the Steelers with impressive statistics on the field.

 

His NFL accolades include being named to the 2004 PFWA Rookie Team and the NFL Rookie of the Year, tied with the fourth most home game wins with 74 of 100 starts, he holds the most passing yards in a single game, completions, attempts, the best completion percentage, and the most touchdown passes. He led the Steelers to many AFC Championships and two Super Bowl wins.
