Barry Lall has been part of the top international law firm, White & Case LLP practice group since 2006. Lall also served as a partner at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP and Lord Day & Lord in London for 11 years before returning to White & Case.

Lall has represented and advised clients on a broad range of legal matters, ranging from general corporate work to complex securities litigation. Lall has also worked on a range of international law enforcement and regulatory matters, often to the benefit of Canadian companies operating in emerging markets.

Lall has been part of the White & Case international arbitration practice working on arbitrations involving parties from North America and around the world. Lall has worked with governments around Europe and North America, as well as numerous clients, in high-profile disputes involving nuclear safety, financial services, aviation safety, commodities trading and more.

Lall is an experienced appellate advocate, appearing in Canada’s Supreme Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Appeal. Lall also has argued numerous important matters in the federal and provincial courts.

Dr Bharat Lall frequently serves as legal expert for Canadian broadcast networks on legal issues facing corporate broadcasters, regulatory policy and related matters.

Lall has been recognized domestically and internationally for his work, including by Canada’s Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. In Europe, Dr Barry Lall is a member of the International Pro Bono Network and was the recipient of the Pro Bono Lawyers of the Year Award from Thomson Reuters, who also acknowledged his efforts in helping to launch the initiative in Canada.

Lall received his LL.B. from the University of Toronto, his LL.M. from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an Honours Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Cambridge.
