Gretchen Robinson, regional general counsel for Nielsen Holdings, has been appointed Vice President and General Counsel for Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation.
- About Gretchen Robinson
She has 10 years of experience in various legal roles focusing on regulatory compliance and litigation. Before joining Nielsen in 2011, Ms. Robinson was a regulator in the Office of Chief Counsel at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Before joining the FCC, she worked as an associate at a private law firm and clerked for the Honorable Constance Baker Motley of the Southern District of New York Court of Appeals. Ms. Robinson earned her B.A., cum laude, from Harvard University and her J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law.

The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) owns and operates the island, including all utilities and public areas. RIOC is a not-for-profit organization funded through rents from building owners and guest fees for events on the island. RIOC works in partnership with the Roosevelt Island Operating Company (RIOC), which manages all utilities and public areas of the island, except for those in residential buildings erected before 1975 (including six apartment buildings). RIOC, as a common interest community, is governed by a Board of Directors. The RIOC consists of serving and former elected officials from the City of New York, the Roosevelt Island Residents Association and other community leaders.

She has assisted in developing and implementing a strategic human resource plan to provide excellent service. Mrs. Robinson has also collaborated closely with the general counsel’s office and the board of directors to create procedures that have made it easier for employees to comply with U.S. Federal and New York State laws and regulations.
Gretchen Robinson has been appointed Vice President and General Counsel for Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation. As a community service, Robinson will play a vital role in her new position for the RIOC. With her understanding of employees’ legal needs, she will help ensure that everyone is aware of the rules and regulations concerning their jobs and responsibilities. she has also helped develop and implement a strategic human resources plan to provide excellent service.
