Kelcy Warren’s vision and leadership have led Energy Transfer Partners to an unrivaled position in the utility and midstream industries.
In 2015, Energy Transfer Partners was the number one pipeline company in the United States and one of the largest pipeline companies in North America. Energy Transfer Partners operates approximately 20,000 miles of pipelines and 16 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas processing capacity.
Warren has been recognized with countless industry awards for his leadership. He is a two-time recipient of the University Of Tulsa’s prestigious Founder’s Day Award and is also a recipient of The George Washington University Spirit Award for Corporate Leadership. He was also named as one of Wall Street Journal’s “Top Ten Managers” in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Kelcy Warren is also a champion for giving back to the community. He serves as a member of the University of Tulsa’s Board of Trustees and has endowed three professorships at the university. Warren has served as a board member of his alma mater, Texas Christian University, since 2009, and was inducted into TCU’s Hall of Fame in 2015. He was also named one of America’s Top Ten Highest Paid College Presidents by Forbes magazine in 2013.
Warren sits on the Board of Directors for Energy Transfer Equity (NYSE: ETE), Energy Transfer Partners (NYSE:ETP) and Sunoco Logistics Partners (NYSE:SXL).
Upon his appointment in 1997, Kelcy Warren set out to diversify the company’s portfolio and provide a steadier source of cash flow. From 2002 to 2003, Warren engineered a $5 billion takeover of New York-based Williams Company, the nation’s largest natural gas transporter. In 2005, Energy Transfer formed the El Paso Corporation through its merger with El Paso Pipeline Partners LP and Kinder Morgan Inc., creating North America’s largest energy infrastructure company. As CEO and Chairman of El Paso Corporation for six years following the merger, he grew earnings by more than five times.
